In an uncharacteristically difficult round of collective negotiations, Swedish Transport Workers’ Union, reached an industry settlement on Sunday 22 April.



The Swedish union and the security employers, mutually agreed to a mediator’s recommended settlement for a new security agreement. Wage growth in the new agreement is 720 SEK (81 Euro) per month. For new employees and employees with basic pay levels, the raise is 600 SEK (67.50 Euro) per month.



“It's been a tough round of negotiations,” said Matt Haglund central ombudsman in charge of monitoring the collective agreement for the unions.



The salary issue alone is a big improvement for workers. The Working Group also made important advances on long-standing priority issues of working time and employment needs concerning redundancies.
