14th UNI Apro Annual Finance Steering Group condemned the brutality and violent actions of Maybank on NUBE Malaysia officials including assault of a female union officer as a union busting measure. Maybank Bhd is currently attempting to accord recognition to the in-house union whilst withdrawing recognition of NUBE.



Maybank Bhd, a Government Linked Company intimidated and victimized two (2) of its employee who are Officers of NUBE for exercising their trade union rights in a trade dispute against Maybank Bhd and subsequently dismissed them.

At the very inception of this intimidation and victimisation, NUBE lodged reports to the Industrial Relations Department, Ministry of Human Resources for the blatant violation of human and trade union right but regrettably the Department failed to protect the rights and livelihood of the two (2) Officers; by once again seeking the advice of the Director General of Trade Unions [DGTU].
