UNI joins SEIU in march against Wells Fargo
3,500 SEIU leaders and activists, along with global and community allies from many countries around the world, are meeting in Denver, Colorado this week for the SEIU Convention. As part of their “Lead Unite Fight: Win for the 99%” Convention theme, thousands of activists marched on Wells Fargo Bank in downtown Denver to protest its irresponsible corporate behaviour.
Wells Fargo is one of the mega US banks that caused the global financial crisis and that perpetuates economic unfairness in America. While Wells Fargo fails to contribute to the tax system that supports good schools, quality infrastructure, public healthcare, it pays its CEO hundreds of times more per hour than it pays workers who provide frontline services at the bank.
