Union leaders presented research papers on key issues facing the postal sector at a conference on postal economics put on by Rutgers University. The conference covered subject matter related to challenges in the sector, diversification, regulation and the Universal Service Obligation.



Representatives from the CWU UK, CWU Ireland, CUPW and UNI presented papers on social regulation of the sector, regulatory failure in the UK and the economic impact of the Canadian postal strike. See the research papers in the related files.



The conference, being held in Brighton UK, from May 30-June 2, is attended by governments, postal operators, regulators and academics.
