Hundreds of thousands of trade unionists from all over the world stand with janitors and security guards to demand justice on the job on June 15 – International Justice Day. Unions in Ireland, Spain, Hong Kong, The Netherlands, Belgium, Australia, Brazil, Sweden, Switzerland, Luxembourg and the United States all celebrated June 15. Some sent messages of support to striking ISS cleaners in Houston, Texas, to striking security workers in Norway and to cleaners in Australia holding demonstrations and rallies to demand a “fair go” at Westfield Shopping Centers. Others put information on their web pages to raise the visibility of common workers’ struggles within UNI Property Services. In all cases, the emails, letters, videos and photos had a clear and unifying message—all workers deserve a fair wage, good working conditions and respect and dignity on the job. It does not matter where those workers are, what company they work for, the denomination they are paid in or the color of their skin. Workers are connected by their common struggles and their commitment to decent work
