During the speech of Paraguayan President Federico Franco at the UN in New York, US unions mobilized outside the building against the mass dismissals of Paraguayan workers that have occurred during the Franco government.

On the 30th of July, all 327 members of the Paraguayan Prosegur union (SINTEPROPASA) were fired by the company after legal strike action.

Today, comrades from SEIU (private security, cleaning), UFCW (retail), NALC (post) and CWA (telecommunications) participated in a solidarity action by giving out flyers against the dismissals in the private security firm Prosegur and in the public sector.
