Jennings commenting on the findings of the World Economic Forum's Global Risks Report 2013 said, “The Report highlights severe income disparity as the top prevalent risk facing the global economy. This is not a risk caused by Mother Nature, it is the result of a climate change in political and economic action of a generation which has abandoned any sense of the common good. This is a risk that we can do something about - we know the policy levels to pull. For working people everywhere there is growing anger that economic development is not lifting all the boats. Business as usual will not deliver. We have to act now to grow jobs, guarantee a living wage and ensure that there is a social safety net in place. Don’t be fooled into thinking this doesn’t include you – the growing social fragility of the world means that our children will face danger, insecurity and unemployment if we allow global greed to waste the world’s scarce resources for the benefit of the few. This is the number one risk facing all of humanity.”
