UNI Global Union stands in solidarity with its Finnish affiliate Trade Union Pro and its members taking part in the strike action.



The strike involves over 2000 employees at TeliaSonera Finland and its subsidiaries DataInfo and Sergel and employees at Manpower Business Solutions, GoExcellent Finland North and Teleperformance in units dealing with TeliaSonera’s operations. Also agency employees are involved in the strike.



The strike action is being taken because of TeliaSonera's longstanding poor personnel policies. After consecutive co-operation negotiations with the company nearly 500 were made redundant and some were transferred to other sites and had to reapply for their jobs.



The company has outsourced a lot of work to agencies and overseas. In addition, the dispute with the management continues concerning workers' rights under the collective agreement.



The workers demand that TeliaSonera gives them a credible proposal about the company’s future and that profit no longer is sought through reducing staff.



The strike has been approved by Trade Union Pro’s Executive Board.
