Verdi and the Federation of Film and TV actors (BFFS) have concluded a fundamentally new agreement with the Producers Alliance, for approximately 25,000 filmworkers in Germany. As a result, talent and crew will receive a share from the revenue from the exploitation of movies.



The agreement foresees participation in all sales proceeds as in theatrical, television rights and world distribution in three stages from initially 7.5 % to 12.5 % to 15%. The agreement will enter into force in early 2014 and will run until the end of 2016.



"The collective agreement provides a rights compensation for filmmakers. That's a first! and creates essential additional compensation for film creators who participate in German cinema productions. It was important that participation takes place immediately after return of capital to the producers. The participation rate is at this level, a compromise that is acceptable as an entry for the next three years," said Frank Werneke Verdi Vice President in statement yesterday.
