On 20 June 2013, an extraordinary meeting of UNI Americas Youth approved a motion to support National Struggle Day in Brazil. Demonstrations, strikes and work stoppages have been ratified by the Brazilian Trade Union Centralsas well as support coming from social movements. These activities are to be held on July 11, 2013 throughout Brazil, and hope to raise awareness on the working issues and social conditions in the country.



The main items on the Agenda contrary to Bill 4330/2004 against regulating outsourcing according to corporate criteria are: rejecting cuts in social spending as a result of reducing public transport fees, assigning 10% of the Union budget for public health and 10% of GDP for education, the objective of social security, the reduction of working hours to 40 hours per week without loss of pay, support of the Agricultural Reform, and the discontinuation of oil tenders.



Given the importance and relevance of the issues at stake during the National Struggle Day, and in solidarity with the people and workers of Brazil, UNI Americas Youth expresses its support for Brazilian youth workers, calling on them to be active players in the day's activities. Furthermore, UNI Americas Youth demands that all Brazilian political entities are made fully aware of the issues raised.
