Philip Jennings, UNI Global Union General Secretary and UN Global Compact board member, will speak at the UN Global Compact Leaders Meeting on Friday. He will take a message to leaders gathered in New York that a jobs policy has to form the foundations of the "New Architecture" project the UN Global Compact will launch at the meeting this week.



The UNI Global Compact will gather ideas from world leaders or "architects" from business, government and non-governmental organisations.



Jennings said, "A new economic architecture must be based on a plan for jobs. As one of the few labour voices on the Compact, I know you don't only need architects to build a house you need builders, plumbers and labourers. Let's make sure the new design includes all of us."
