India: UNI Apro President pledges stronger ties between ICTJ and NCU
Hyderabad, India - UNI Apro President, Bro Minao Noda, together with Sis Fumiko Kimura, Secretary of ICTJ’s International Department, made his maiden visit to Hyderabad from the 8th to 10th of November. He was there to meet with UNI affiliates at a special UNI All Affiliates Meeting arranged by the UNI Indian Liaison Council and organised by the All India State Bank of India Staff Federation (AISBISF), supported its Hyderabad Circle affiliate in Hyderabad.
President Noda was the special guest of honour for the conference organised by the National Confederation of Unites held on 9 November. He pledged that ICTJ Japan will enter into an understanding with NCU to promote activities and organise ICT workers in India.

Under the aegis of State Bank of India Staff Union Hyderabad Circle – an affiliate of All India State Bank of India Staff Federation (AISBISF), a meeting of All Affiliates of UNI was held on the 8th November 2017 at Hyderabad. The meeting was held coinciding with the visit of Japanese delegation led by Bro. Minao Noda, President, UNI Apro to India – Hyderabad.
The meeting was held in a well decorated elegant auditorium in the premises of State Bank of India, Local Head Office, Hyderabad, attended by more than 250 to 300 members of the sponsor Union. The meeting was presided by Bro. Milind Nadkarni, President, UNI ILC. The dignitaries were Bro. Minao Noda, President, UNI Apro, Bro. V V S R Sarma, President, AISBISF & Management and Executive Committee Member, UNI APRO, Bro. N. Radhakrishnan, Deputy General Secretary, AISBISF, Bro. Theagarajan, General Secretary, UNI ILC, Bro. J.S.R. Prasad, Director, UNIDOC and Ms. Fumiko Kimura, International Secretary, ICTJ.
In his presidential address, Bro. Milind Nadkarni spoke about the global unions established and highlighted the role of UNI Global Union in uniting the trade unions all over the world and stressed on the need of strengthening the Trade Unions in South Asia. He also complimented Unions in State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda and Indian Overseas Bank by being in the forefront to get affiliated with UNI representing the banking industry. Further he reiterated that the trade unions in South Asian Region will be playing a major role globally protecting the rights of labour.
Com. V V S R Sarma complimented Bro. Minao Noda for his highly professional approach in conducting the meetings as President, UNI Apro and expressed his thanks for leading the Japanese delegation to India – Hyderabad, thereby providing the opportunity to conduct the Affiliates’ Meeting by the sponsor union. Com. Sarma also highlighted the aspect of participative management by quoting the cordial relations between the unions and the management in State Bank of India.
Bro. Minao Noda, in his Key Note address, paid rich compliments to the organizers for the elaborate arrangements for conduct of the meeting and made a specific mention on the good turnout of members of the sponsor union. Bro. Noda also reiterated the role of UNI Global Union in strengthening the trade unions, particularly in South Asian Region and its role in training the young generation, who need to carry on the activities on a continuous basis towards protecting the rights of labour and expressed confidence that UNI Apro will act as a catalyst in fulfilling the objectives of UNI Global Union.
