President Cheng Kuangming of Taiwan’s Chunghwa Postal Workers’ Union was given a Breaking Through Award in honor of his success in advancing the rights of postal workers in his country.  His achievements include pre-natal leave for pregnant postal workers and closing the pay gap among Taiwanese postal workers.  He has acted in solidarity with not for profit groups which aim to raise the awareness around the needs of underprivileged ethnic groups and others which work to safeguard the interests of Taiwanese youth who are working in other countries, like Australia.                                

Raj Acharya, UNI Asia and Pacific Assistant Regional Secretary, accepted the award on President Cheng’s behalf.
