The UNI Apro Mentoring Program carried out its Closing Workshop with great success in Singapore on the 3-4th of October 2017.

20 participants from Malaysia, Nepal and Sri Lanka met to evaluate their progress during the two-year implementation period of the program. This evaluation included issues such as the role of the Mentee, the role of the Mentor, long-term goals, how each one benefitted from the program, and ideas for the future.

Another topic that was of great interest was to observe the effective implementation of the program in each of the unions/countries in which the program has been implemented. In the cases of countries such as Nepal, 17 tandems have been created since the program was first launched in 2015 and in Sri Lanka, 28 new tandems were born out of the first mentoring tandem. Some of these new tandems were able to share their experiences during the workshop. 
The Closing Workshop was also an opportunity to include in the discussion topics such as: gender mainstreaming through the implementation of the UNI Equal Opportunities campaigns, increasing women in unions as part of the 40% rule, and sharing of good practices with the UNI Mentoring Program Manual on Good Practices.

The workshop concluded with an assessment of the program in terms of methodology, evaluation and support.
