Unite members at IT Services giant Fujitsu will start industrial action on 28 February across the UK – let’s show our support!
The profits of Fujitsu Services Limited, the main UK company, rose to £85.6m last year and one director got £1.448m, but the company paid an effective tax rate of 0%. Fujitsu plans to cut 1800 UK jobs through offshoring, automation and outsourcing, but not before terminating the UK works council through which the company had agreed enhanced redundancy terms/protection. This leaves little more than statutory redundancy terms for the majority of workers.
Unite members in Fujitsu across the UK have now voted in favour of strike action and action short of strike over the job cuts, to extend union recognition nationally, and over the outstanding issues in relation to pension cuts, the Living Wage and pay inequality.
Industrial action starts on Tuesday 28 February with a 24 hour strike and ongoing action short of strike.
