UNI Global Union’s Management Committee shows its support for striking Verizon workers and CWA union

During the Management Committee UNI ICTS Global President Andy Kerr drew attention to the 39,000 Verizon workers in the US out on strike action because of the cynical actions of the management to put profits above everything else including the well- being of their loyal workforce. Sarah Steffens CWA Secretary-Treasurer also joined via video to update the Management Committee on the latest developments.  

The Management Committee also heard how a visit by Verizon workers, CWA and UNI Global Union to the Philippines ended in their illegal imprisonment in a van because of the action of Verizon security guards. The delegation was released by the police who made it clear they had done nothing wrong.
