Fast food workers, retail and care workers, security guards, students and more are taking to the streets of towns and cities around the world to join the Fight for $15 campaign for a new minimum wage in the United States.

The campaigners are delivering a message to the world’s biggest companies, including McDonalds, to end poverty wages and offer the chance to workers to feed their own families, pay their rent and join a union without retaliation. They have received solidarity messages from around the world, including from UNI Head Office Staff in Switzerland.

The protests will span 40 countries and include actions in 200 U.S. cities. The strike is being organised by ‘Fight For $15’, which has set up an online petition and a social media campaign.
