In its 2007 report, the pension fund of the Bank of England employees states: “At the Bank’s request the Trustee has recently decided, having taken the advice of their Investment Consultants and other advisors, to move … to a much more passive, lower-risk strategy linked closely to the Fund’s liabilities.” The fund’s stakes in private equity funds will be liquidated “over an appropriate timescale to secure the best value”.
