No statement has been made yet about further job cuts at the bank. However, it has been revealed that UBS is considering cutting a further 8,000 jobs to save costs.



UBS held a meeting in Berlin to discuss wealth management and investment banking, a possible split of the two has not been ruled out. Other topics discussed include efficiency measures, crisis and cost management.

Last month, the bank announced its first ever quarterly loss of CHF4.4 billion. The bank may reduce assets a further $12 billion in sub-prime mortgage related assets, adding to the $13.7 billion write-downs already made.
