In a video link up to the American Postal Workers Union (APWU) convention being held in Las Vegas this week, Barack Obama told the delegates that on top of his agenda would be, making sure the Employee Free Choice Act, which would give much needed union rights to American workers, passes into law. After a rousing welcome by the delegates, who chanted "Yes we can, yes we can" in response to can we get a Democrat in the White House, Barack Obama told the convention that he was going to put a priority on turning the US economy around and making sure working Americans regained a decent standard of living and rights so cruelly taken away in rotten labour legislation. He said he would give working families a tax cut and stimulate the economy. He also said that privatisation and deregulation of the postal service were not on the agenda.

At the end of the video link up, the convention unanimously and with incredible cheering and applause that almost raised the roof of the convention centre, passed a resolution endorsing Obama as the APWU preferred candidate in theforthcoming Presidential elections .
