At the UNI Global Union DHL organising workshop being held in Manila, The Philippines, workers from DHL unions in the Asia Pacific region expressed their horror and great sadness at the terrible events that lead to the death of two fellow DHL workers, David Giles and Jason Bresler, in Kabul on 25 October. The representatives of the unions from 10 different countries send their most sincere condolences to the families of Mr Giles and Mr Bresler. The representatives said, "We are deeply saddened to know that innocent workers doing their job for DHL have been killed and we will find any opportunity we can to work with DHL to make workers jobs safer and more secure and to find ways to ensure that this tragedy is not repeated. We do not want any other families to suffer in the way these families have or for any more innocent lives to be destroyed. It is a total tragedy that this should happen to ordinary workers carrying out their job trying to make a living for themselves and to do the best by their families."
