UNI Apro Congratulates Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on its 10th Congress!

 The 10th National Congress of Vietnamese Trade Unions was successfully held in Hanoi from 3 to 5 November 2008 with participation of 986 local delegates and 33 international delegates as well as representatives from diplomatic missions accredited to Vietnam including Bro. Christopher Ng the Regional Secretary of UNI Apro.



During the congress, the delegates deliberated on issues affecting the workers in the countries and made certain proposals to safe guard the workers right in light of the liberalization of the economy. It was also a significant year as 2008 is another milestone for the Vietnam as Vietnam National Union of Post and Telecom is the first union in Vietnam to be affiliated to a Global Union namely UNI – Union Network International.



At the Congress, a new Executive Committee was elected with 160 members headed by Mr. Dang Ngoc Tung who was reelected as the VGCL President for the 10th Tenure (2008 - 2013). Five Vice Presidents of the VGCL were reelected namely Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh, Mr. Hoang Ngoc Thanh, Mr. Mai Duc Chinh, Mr. Nguyen Van Ngang and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thu Hong.



VGCL highly appreciates Bro. Christopher Ng’s active participation to the 10th National Congress of the Vietnamese Trade Unions, especially on his contribution to the meeting with the Mr. Nong Duc Manh, General Secretary of Vietnam Communist Party on behalf of the international delegates.
