UNI Europa Youth Demonstrates in Brussels on Action Day

More than 50,000 demonstrators marched through Brussels in the Euro-demonstration on 15 May giving a clear signal to the European members of parliament: fight the crisis, put the people first!



The demonstration was organised by the European Confederation of Trade Unions (ETUC) and simultaneous events took place in Madrid, Berlin & Prague. Collectively over 350,000 people took part across the four cities.



UNI Europa Youth members also took part in the demonstration as young workers are the hardest hit by the crisis. Youth workers are often the first victims of lay-offs and cancellation of temporary contracts causing Youth unemployment to skyrocket.



It is unacceptable for workers and citizens to shoulder the burden of a crisis they did not cause.
