The management asked the works councils of all plants to make themselves proposals for a 10% cut down of the workers income (for instance no annual bonus payment, holiday allowance or delete supplements and paid breaks) .

We know this behaviour very well since years. In good economic times workers were forced to longer working hours without payment (or change to lower working conditions)

The present members of the works councils noticed the MMP group is not a case for financial restructuring. One plant is on short time work, some are well worked to capacity and others are overfull.

May be this year the sales and profit goals will not be achieved, so we were asked to give 10 % of our income away to the sharehoulders.

The sharehoulders dividend was kept on a high level this year and so we can’t give any cause for asking the trade unions for a social pact in times of crises.

Collective wage conditions are minimum standards and should secure the income and the employment in times of crisis.

So we are deeply disappointed certainly about the MM Graphia Bielefeld management, because of trying to do redundancies in an increasing profitable situation.

This is a breach of trust and we can’t accept this behaviour as a basic for talks.

There are enough possibilities by law (like short time work) to save the jobs.
