As part of the project "A transnational framework for industrial relations: At the heart of an ethical and social European finance industry, UNI Europa Finance held a workshop in Prague addressing the challenges facing unions in the new member states in Central and Eastern Europe.



Particular aspects were the impact of the financial crisis and involvement in the European social dialogue for the banking and insurance industry. The discussion involved members of the UNI Europa Finance Steering Group and union representatives from SBF/Croatia, OSPPP/Czech Republic, ISU/Estonia, BBDSZ/Hungary, LFU/Lithuania, Bankowiec/Poland, OZPPaP/Slovakia, SBS/Slovenia, Basisen/Turkey and BASS/Turkey.



The workshop aimed at identifying challenges and solutions in terms of trade union cooperation, multinational companies, national industrial relations and European social dialogue.

Participants to the workshop expressed their great satisfaction with the debates at the workshop and considered the exchange of practices very valuable for their daily work.
