As it exits Chapter 11, the company closed on $800 million in financing and repaid its $540 debtor-in-possession facility. Last month,U.S. government asked a bankruptcy judge to deny the printing company's plan to exit bankruptcy because it owed unpaid taxes and environmental penalties.



The company announced plans to change its name to World Color Press; World Color and Quebecor merged in 1999, creating Quebecor World—at that time deal postioned QW as the largest printing company in North America, even bigger than RR Donnelley. An initiative to brand the new name will start soon.



In June, the company overhauled its board of directors and said it hoped to make more acquisitions

to consolidate what is still a fragmented industry.



In addition, QW signed a multiyear agreement with Schofield Media Group to continue printing 18 business-to-business magazines. Titles covered under the renewal agreement include U.S. Business Review, Manufacturing Today, Supply Chain Solutions, Beverage World, Restaurant Business and other business sector publications that reach corporate-level executives and decision-makers.
