Key rights for temporary agency workers such as the right to time off for training would also be delayed for smaller businesses. UK unions are extremely disappointed with these developments. Brendan Barber, general secretary of the Trades Union Congress said yesterday: "Agency workers are even more in need of protection during a recession. Vulnerable workers are always the first to suffer when times are hard,"



UNI europa echos the stance made by UK unions demanding the UK government reconsiders their decision especially given the Conservative Party and UK employers associations clear intention to empty the directive of its spirit of equal treatment.
