Jonny, who was born in Bergen, had been 1^st FLT Vice-President since 2001. He has now taken over the helm from Yarle Molde, who did not stand for another term.

FLT has for many years played an active role in UNI P&MS. FLT membership includes civil engineers, engineers, technicians, production managers, middle managers, team leaders and technical staff.

FLT has been a pioneer in e-learning from the early days of the Internet. Today FLT owned subsidiary ADDISCO is one of the leading further training providers in Norway. ADDISCO offers a whole range of online study courses including an international MBA degree for engineers.

Jens Stoltenberg, recently elected Norwegian Prime Minister, Head of a green-red coalition Government, in his address to the FLT Congress said that Norway had to think beyond oil and gas and that its future wealth has to be based on skills and knowledge. He congratulated FLT for its efforts to provide top level lifelong learning facilities to its members.
