Walmart to increase its global workforce by 36 percent



The world’s largest retailer Walmart plans to increase its workforce to 3 million during the next five years which represents an increase by 36 percent from the now 2.2 million workers - but no further details have so far been revealed.



In accordance with the company's focus on international growth, the new employees will be hired mostly outside the U.S, where sales have fallen for five consecutive quarters. The international sales figures for Walmart have grown 91 percent in the last five years to $100.1 billion, almost triple the pace in the U.S.
