CSC, the global information technology multinational is playing foul with its employees and their trade unions in Denmark.

CSC has over 93’000 employees worldwide and is in its own words: “…a leading provider of information technology services to commercial and government markets worldwide.” CSC is present in more than 90 countries on all continents.

With over 2’500 employees in Denmark CSC is an important provider of IT services of private customers but also for the Danish Government and public services including the police and tax authorities. CSC has won many contracts from former state owned IT service providers.

UNI affiliate PROSA represents employees in CSC and negotiates collective agreements. Negotiations, though, for the renewal of the collective agreement have broken down recently. Despite substantial concessions made by PROSA, CSC has ceased negotiations and locked out some 120 PROSA members. Even an arbitration procedure could not make the company return to the bargaining table.

PROSA will have to take industrial action, which might have severe consequences for the Danish economy given the sensitivity of CSC services and operations in the country.

PROSA needs support and solidarity from all of you.
