Workers of the UBIS, a company that is part of Unicredit responsible to develop IT and Back office activities had developed assemblies in Italy in the cities of Rome, Milan, Turin, Brescia, Trieste and Verona to discuss the Newton project. They had expressed their concern and clear opposition to the outsourcing that the group is considering to develop, and in particular to the fact that Newton project is considering laying off more than 800 Italians workers on the total of 2200 in Europe (Germany, Austria, Rumania and other countries).

Italians unions had decided to undertake all efforts to combat this initiative, including strikes and joint action between workers from Unicredit S.A and UBIS.

They will propose to all unions in Unicredit at European level that are also affected by Newton project to increase the resonance of the dispute getting audience from local authorities and local press.

UNI Finance will support or affiliates and will contribute to develop a wide coordination among them to face this problem.
