The main theme of the forum was organising around bargaining processes and collective actions. Several unions gave presentations on their organising strategies and specific organising campaigns such as the ver.di campaign at Amazon.com, and IG Metal's successful organising campaign in the wind turbine industry. Unions also gave presentations on how to develop shop stewards networks and how to use shop stewards in the organising and recruitment. Examples which helped show the ways this can be achieved came from 3F Denmark with their Organiser showing how cleaners at Aahus hospital built worker power to achieve their aims, and from PAM Finland on a pilot project they are running to develop their organising strategies. BBK-SETCA from Belgium showed how they have been using their shop stewards network to do union recruitment during worker inductions and the CWU Ireland gave good examples of shop stewards supporting organising.



Several workshops helped the participants to think about how they could take the lessons learnt from the forum and implement back in their own unions. Feedback from these workshops and the forum was very positive and showed that all participants had gained some ideas and positive thoughts on how to enhance the organising initiatives in their unions.
