UNI Global Union hosted a screening in Geneva of the “The Yes Men Fix the World,” a new documentary chronicling the adventures of two men who impersonate corporate executives in an attempt to shed light on the injustice caused by certain corporate policies.



Some 200 union activists, young people and community members attended the screening in downtown Geneva as part of events planned by unions around the world to mark the World Day for Decent Work.



“We chose to do a local community event to celebrate the World Day for Decent Work and raise awareness of the commitment of UNI and our unions to fight for justice and equality for workers everywhere,” said Adriana Rosenzvaig. “The Yes Men film uses a humorous style to bring attention to very serious issues that affect millions of workers.”



The Yes Men are Andy Bichlbaum and Mike Bonanno: two guys who say they “just can't take ‘no’ for an answer.”



The documentary chronicles the efforts of Bichlbaum and Bonanno to change the world by posing as top executives of corporations they hate and parodying their corporate targets to bring attention to what they say is “the danger of letting greed run our world.”



The film fits with UNI’s own efforts to rebuild the economy to break through for a better world for everyone. We cannot accept a return to business as usual.



The World Day for Decent Work was started by the International Grade Union Confederation to tackle the global economic and employment crisis and demand fundamental reform of the world economy.
