UNI Global Union today is joining events planned by unions around the world to mark the World Day for Decent Work.



The World Day for Decent Work was started by the International Grade Union Confederation to tackle the global economic and employment crisis and demand fundamental reform of the world economy.



In Geneva tonight, UNI will be hosting a community event to talk about its objectives for reforming the global economy and to show the documentary “The Yes Men Fix the World.”



The documentary chronicles the efforts of Andy Bichlbaum and Mike Bonanno to change the world by posing as top executives of corporations they hate and parody their corporate targets to bring attention to what they say is “the danger of letting greed run our world.”



The film fits with UNI’s own efforts to rebuild the economy to break through for a better world for everyone. We cannot accept a return to business as usual.



UNI was part of a global union delegation organised by the ITUC that turned over the Call to Action for Decent Work to the World Trade Organisation in Geneva.



UNI is also hosting an event in Abidjan, Côte D’Ivoire, as well.
