After exhausting all avenues for the Moroccan government to open a responsible social dialogue on workers' demands, the Moroccan labour movement has declared a 24 hour general  strike on Wednesday 24 February.

UNI affiliate Union Marocaine du Travail calls on trade union organisations from around the world to send letters of solidarity and support to the leader of the Moroccan Government (Fax:00212537731010) or the Minister for Employment and Social Affairs (Fax: 00212537750240).

In the face of  continued antisocial government policies, regressive unilateral decisions on fundamental social questions and the escalation of freedom of association violations the Moroccan people have said enough is enough. Repeated attacks on workers' and Moroccan citizens' purchasing power will not be taken lying down.

The 24 hour general strike on Wednesday February 24, 2016, will include private, public, semi-public sectors as well as local communities.
