UNI Global Union's World Executive Board (WEB) is meeting over the next two days at UNI Head Office in Nyon Switzerland.

In his opening remarks, UNI General Secretary Philip Jennings said that the US election result was a cause for reflection, and both a challenge and an opportunity. He added that yesterday's Leadership Summit on the Future World of Work had provided good context for the WEB.

All the participants sent their best wishes to UNI President Ann Selin who was unable to attend the meeting because of illness. 

There will be a special session on the Wednesday afternoon to discuss the potential effects of Trump's win on the union movement.

The packed two day agenda, will include sessions on organising,  including the Breaking Through Awards for organising and the Freedom from Fear Awards. 

The WEB is bringing together more than 100 top union leaders from UNI's affiliates.
