UNI Global Union General Secretary, Philip Jennings used a session at Davos on the Future World of Work to call on governments to invest in training to the same level they currently invest in defence.  

Jennings said it was clear that the old model of a job for life was gone and that what was important now was to introduce life long learning.

Earlier in the session Jennings underlined that having so much power invested in just five tech companies raised serious concerns about ethics, governance, the business model and their responsibility to the wider world and workforce.

Jennings said that labour market was in crisis with half of the world's 3.2 billion workforce in vulenrable work and the share of wages in decline.
