Union leaders from UNI Global Union affiliates in Guatemala on Tuesday delivered a letter detailing their support for the Employee Free Choice Act, legislation supported by the Obama administration that will protect US workers’ right to join a union.

“We are going to strongly support this law and show our solidarity with North American workers and make sure that the right to unionise is respected by multinationals operating in the United States,” said the Human Rights Network of Guatemala, which was created in a UNI Americas seminar. The five unions and federations present also signed the letter supporting the UNI global solidarity campaign for the Employee Free Choice Act.
