The new collective agreement was signed with Bell in Ottawa on June 5, 2008. Here are points of clarification regarding some of the new provisions:

• Changes to Article 21 (Vacations) will become effective with the 2009 vacation selections in January 2009.

• The new standby program will commence immediately in those areas where it will apply. Employees with 30 years service will have the ability to opt out of the program where possible.

• Employees with 30 years service will have the ability, where possible, of opting out of working weekends commencing with the next 8 week work schedule.

• Lump sum payments will be paid on the June 27 pay.

• Employees who wish to transfer a portion of their lump sum payments to their RRSP must access the Omniflex site for information. If there are further questions, please talk to your manager.

• The 20 minute paid lunch break on Sunday day tours will continue to apply until the commencement of the next 8 week schedule.
