UNI condemns detention of Kwasi Adu Amankwa at Robert Mugabe International Airport

UNI Africa is dismayed by the news that Kwasi Adu Amankwa, the ITUC-Africa General Secretary, was held in detention at the Robert Mugabe International Airport and faces deportation from Zimbabwe. Kwasi Adu Amankwa was in the country for an international solidarity meeting with the Zimbabwean Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU). He was also scheduled to the meet the Zimbabwean Ministry of Labour, the ILO and the Employers Confederation of Zimbabwe to gain an understanding of the issues that workers in particular, are faced with in Zimbabwe.

Contact centre workers launch new Albanian labour union

UNICARE building bridges in rapidly expanding care sector

UNICARE is building bridges in a thriving and rapidly transforming sector. According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), there will be almost 120 million new jobs created in the care sector. At the UNICARE World Conference in Rome, representatives of the WHO, the Catholic Church and Age Platform Europe reiterated their eagerness to continue coordinating with UNICARE and other social partners.
