Motion Text:

Alternating system for the resignation of members of the steering group and proposed changes of the statutes



A system of alternating for the resignation of members is needed in order to guarantee the continuation of the work of UNI Youth even after a newly elected steering group.



There is a strong need to maintain a clear line of work for the steering group. The steering group’s clear line of work is decided by the Youth Committee Meeting and remain in force until the next meeting. If the composition of the group is changed there is a risk that the line of work will be blurred and that a new line of work needs to be developed which is costly both in terms of time and planning.



Therefore we suggest that:



· as from this conference the Steering Group of UNI Youth introduces a alternating system for the resignation of the Steering Group members according to the following model:

President 2 years, one Vice President for 2 years, 2 Vice Presidents 1 year.



We propose that the way to decide which members of the steering group will be elected for one year, is though a draw system (for example drawing names out of a hat).

This draw will be conducted after members have been elected onto the steering committee.

At the next conference members will be elected for a period of 2 years
