The 10^th COSATU Congress honoured out-going SATAWU General Secretary and ITF President Randall Howard as the longest serving national office bearer of COSATU.



Randall has now joined the government as adviser to the minister of Public Services Richard Baloyi.



Randall has been a trade unionist for 23 years. He was elected as a shop steward in 1986, a career he said helped him to discover his passion for the cause of workers.



He thanked South African workers urging them to keep the tradition of open debate and democracy. He said the struggle for socialism will continue. “Say what you say, mean what you say.”
