The discussions on the opportunity of introducing a tax on financial transactions is reaching a climax. The IMF will publish a very expected report on the feasibility of an FTT on 28 April. Dominique Strauss-Kahn, IMF Managing Director, has already cast doubts on transactions tax, although many economists and politicians have published studies proving the feasibility and the sustainable usefulness of an FTT.
