Yesterday, Prosegur Peru decided not to renew the employment contracts of 40 workers who participated in a demonstration outside the company on February 24, 2018.

According to Prosegur Peru Workers Union (SPP), upon requesting an explanation from a senior manager, the answer was that the company had lost confidence in those workers and therefore would not renew their contracts.

Both UNI Global Union and the Workers Confederation of Peru, two organisations to which the SPP is affiliated, will take actions in this case, since it is a clear intention of anti-union retaliation against workers affiliated with the union, and a violation of the right to work as a human right.
