UNI Graphical & Packaging and Kimberly-Clark Corporation have held their 9th Annual Meeting in Atlanta on March 23rd. Participants included: Kent Mc Vay, Kimberly-Clark‘s Vice President for Labor and Social Compliance; representatives of the company’s global, regional, national management; Javier Carles, Head of UNI Graphical & Packaging; Andy Snoddy, UNI Global Union Campaigns Director; Christopher Ng, UNI APRO Regional Secretary; Marvin Largaespada, UNI Americas Graphical and Packaging Regional Director; Jon Geenen, United Steelworkers International Vice President, and union leaders, officials and delegates from Brazil, Colombia, Italy, Thailand, United Kingdom and United States.

The events which occurred during the past year were analyzed during a fluid exchange of reports and plans between the company and the unions. The union agenda focused on labor and union rights throughout the supply chain, on weaknesses in the relationships of some national managers with unions and finally on health and safety issues. UNI also presented its European project for the tissue and hygiene industry, in which UNI expects Kimberly-Clark to participate. The company presented their business results, prospects as well as challenges they expect to face in the upcoming period in terms of labor, community, and environment.
