Unified voice brought real spring to Japan’s labour insurance workers!
Toward the unified goal for the inclusive improvement of workers’ livelihood, 10 unions affiliated to ROSAIROREN (Federation of ZENROSAI Trade Unions) undertook their annual spring offensive for the year 2015. They submitted their demands to respective employers during 2-6 March followed by negotiations to have reached an agreement on 3rd April.
Important achievements include:
- An increase in monthly wage and allowances were agreed at 5 unions out of total 10 unions.
- In-house minimum wages were formally or informally agreed between all unions and respective employers.
- Making continuous efforts on further improvement of non-regular workers was confirmed.
ROSAIROREN worked out one-month spring offensive campaign to realize synergetic effect on negotiations through the establishment of central struggle committee and information sharing among affiliates.
1. Increase in wages and allowances
As for regular workers, monthly wage increase rates and targeted workers were identified and demanded by individual unions. As for non-regular workers, the industry federation, ROSAIROREN, formed the unified standard rate for the wage increase.
Despite the current difficult situation of the business and severe outlook of the future, all of the 10 affiliates negotiated tenaciously with the employers toward stability of livelihood and realization of virtuous cycle of economy and finally more number of the affiliates succeeded to reach the agreement on the increase of wages and allowances.
2. Agreement on in-house minimum wage
Since some of the affiliates failed to agree on the minimum wage last year, all of the affiliates shared the significance of in-house minimum wage not only among themselves but also with respective employers.
In general, respective unions reached agreements with the employers based on the same level as the newly recruited college graduates. We believe that it is social agreement.
3. Improvement of working conditions of non-regular workers
We will continue our efforts to realize equal treatment for non-regular workers.
