After several years of successful growth and development, Spanish multinational Inditex has launched a new plan to include employees in the financial benefits of a prosperous 2015-2016.

Head of UNI Commerce Alke Boessiger urged caution saying, “We welcome this initiative because it recognises the role of Inditex employees in creating a successful and prosperous company. However, the company must still do more to improve scheduling and pay in order to reduce staff turnover. Otherwise too many short-term employees will miss out on the benefits of this new scheme.”

The plan is targeted at all store, factory, logistics, chain and subsidiary employees worldwide that have been with the company continuously for more than two years as of 31 March 2016 and 2017. The Group will award these beneficiaries 10% of the year-on-year growth in consolidated net profit up to a cap of 2% of total profit. This measure will benefit around 70,000 people in 54 operating markets.

This scheme will run for two years. Part one will be collected in April 2016, taking into account the increase in year-on-year growth of the Group's net profit in 2015. Part two will be collected in April 2017, using the same criteria.
