UNI Apro / JPGU's English Camp 2014

The 4th UNI Apro / JPGU's Joint English Camp was held on 15 and 16 November, 2014 in Ohme, Tokyo. Thirty eight participants came together and three
youth from abroad (Bro. Rodel dela Pasion, PEUP of Philippines, Sis. Soma Ghosh, FNPO of India, and Bro. Lee Fishwick, President of UNI-Europa from
the CWU, the U.K.) were invited as resource persons. Bro. Ito, Director of the UNI Apro Post and Logistic sector also joined in this seminar.
The main theme of this camp was focused on unions' local contribution activities. Bro. Ito, in his presentation titled "the world of UNI GLOBAL UNION" talked about the significance of global union movement. Bro. Rodel made a presentation on "About myself, my company (Phil Post) and my union (PEUP/UNI-PLC)". Sis. Soma Ghosh delivered a speech titled "Postal Union in India" and Bro. Lee explained about the effects of privatisation of Royal
Mail, the IPO of the Royal Mail and the impact on the youth workers. From the JPGU, Bro. Akira delivered a presentation on postal unions' contribution
activities for local communities, such as NALC's Food Drive, VNUPTW's blood donation actions, wheel chair contributions, and others.
All resource persons were fully helpful to every participant in the group work by improving their English expression, exchanging opinions with them, and talking about their home unions' activities in line with this seminar's main topic through their experience. Participants made reports in English on their ideal social contribution activities based on the previous day's group work.
All participants were able to learn postal situations and unions' activities in both Asia and Europe regions. They understood postal workers were all
same and they were all UNI family members through this seminar. Resource persons also learned postal situations of Japan, the Philippines, the U.K,
and India through seminar participants and their fellow resource persons.
