ZUFIAW is mobilizing youth and women

In order to enhance the Union’s visibility and to promote youth and women participation in union affairs, ZUFIAW, Zambia held its annual Sports Festival for 2013 under the theme “Uniting in Sport,” on the 23rd and 24th November 2013 in Lusaka, Zambia. 
12 financial institutions participated in various sporting disciplines, which included:
·    Football – Men and Women’s Teams 
·    Netball-Women
·    Chess – Mixed Gender
·    Pool – Mixed Gender
·    Tug of War- Mixed Gender 
The winning teams walked away with Festival branded Trophies and bragging right for a year, while runners won Festival Branded Shields. 

The festival was attended by over 200 women and about 320 youths on both days, who actively participated in the organization of the event and also participated in the games.

The young workers took the opportunity to raise awareness about the need to join trade unions.
