UNI Telecom have been informed by our colleagues at the CWU in South Africa about the disgraceful behaviour of Vodacom management whilst trying to obtain union recognition.



CWU South Africa will be holding various protests in the next few weeks, which may lead to a strike if the issue is not resolved.



12 & 13 March – Pickets at Vodacom buildings nationwide during lunch breaks with a call for all to switch off their Vodacom mobiles for 10 minutes from 13.00 hrs on both days.



14 March – A march will take place to Vodaworld meeting taking place in Midrand where Vodacom officials from the African continent will be meeting.



15-20 March – Work to Rule will be implemented.



In response, UNI Global Union has set up a click n go message online for all affiliates and their members to support the protest. The messages go to the Vodacom Management and with a copy to the union.
